At the present time these slots are not full.

If you are interested in attending not during the day but at night please let me know as well since there are other opportunities available to attend at a discount which can also include a discussion called "bookends" which usually occur on Wednesday nights. These are not geared to students but the general public. The dates for this are not yet listed.

Please remove ALL of your stuff from the Co-op room by our last day, Thursday, May 23. Chemistry lab kits can stay, but other than that, pretty much everything needs to go. Even if you are teaching next year, please take your stuff home for the summer, and we will start fresh in the fall. If something is left, and it's labeled with your name, I will get it to you. If something is left, and I don't know whose it is, it will be thrown away. Some things get left in there that no one claims and no one is using or the person who meant to use it completely forgot about it, so this clean-out at the end of the year is very important.

Science and art cabinets can stay as is, but I encourage you to clean and organize them. Please leave the top of your cabinets clear of stuff. (Talk to me if this is a problem.)

Everyone - please check lost and found and collect your stuff!

For those who would like Gluten Free pizza at the Pizza Party, Sharon Gingell will be taking orders this week and next week at Co-op. There will be a sign-up sheet at the CM Help Desk. (There is no extra charge this first time.) Please note: if you want to eat Gluten Free pizza, you MUST sign up by Thursday, May 16th. GF pizza will ONLY be given to those who have pre-ordered through Sharon.

The pizza will come from Domino's. Here is a disclaimer from Domino's:

"While Domino’s new Gluten Free Crust is appropriate for those with mild gluten sensitivity, Domino’s and the NFCA do not recommend it for those with celiac disease. Domino’s and the NFCA found that while the crust is certified as gluten free, current store operations at Domino’s cannot guarantee that each handcrafted pizza will be completely free from gluten."

The Dominican Republic Mission Team will be collecting clothes for distribution at the Oasis Bilingual School and Oasis Church in Santiago during our trip July 5-13. We would like to bless them with the following:

-spring and summer clothing and shoes
-all ages or sizes
-clean with no tears, stains, or missing buttons

The Northern Virginia Home School Symphonic Winds is an intermediate band for
home school or private school musicians who need an affordable band experience. We play intermediate to advanced literature, perform two concerts annually and meet Wednesdays at 4:00-5:30 p.m. at St. Peters in the Woods, Fairfax Station, VA. We are now accepting musicians for the 2013-14 season. Our rehearsals begin September 11, 2013. The band is open to all levels except beginners. On Tuesdays, during the 2013-2014 school year (at our building) John Jenkins will be teaching Effective Writing at 8:30-9:30, The Published Student with Master Strokes from Literature at 9:35-10:50, and World or American Literature at 11:05-12:15 (depending on numbers/interest level). Cost per Class: $325 for a 30-week program. Materials and handouts fee: $30. Some classes have an additional book purchase requirement.

RSVP - I need to know how many from your family are attending by Thursday, May. 16. If some are coming but not eating pizza - I need to know both numbers (i.e. - 5 coming - but only 2 eating pizza). There will be a table for desserts, so please feel free to bring a "finger food" dessert for the dessert table.
Teachers of 11:20 classes - please release your class 5 minutes early so everyone can be assembled in the auditorium and ready to begin by 12:20.

Teachers of 1:00 classes, you are welcome to cancel your class, start your class late or start at 1:00. Please communicate to your classes what your expectations are for your students. (And all classes that meet the BA need to be relocated - so talk to me about that if we have not talked already.)

Moms of childcare students - please have your kids out of childcare by 12:15.

We do need some help on this... Set up help during the 10:10 hour and a lot during the 11:20 hour. We also need some servers during the actual pizza party - AND - I need quite a bit of clean-up help (throwing away trash, putting tables and chairs away, vacuuming, and kitchen help). Please let me know if you or your student(s) can help and when.

Hope Schaaf mentioned that she could possibly pick up people's Chipotle order (for gluten free eaters) if you individually ordered and paid online. Talk to her if you want to look into that. We could also consider making some gluten free pizzas if someone wanted to coordinate orders and buy the ingredients. Talk to me if you want to look into that.

Shelly is going to need some help with normal take-down and set-up for CM on Friday (tomorrow) after testing. This is the normal take-down/set-up that typically takes place on Thursday after Co-op. If you are already helping Marlene with the BA set-up (for the Year End Event), please stay focused on only helping her. If you are not doing that and could help for a couple of hours on Friday afternoon after testing with regular take down (starting at about 12:00 or 12:30 (depending on when testing is COMPLETELY done), could you let me know?

Just want to send out a reminder that tomorrow (Thursday, April 25th) will be the last day to bring your $10 family payment and to sign up to bring a dessert for the Year End Year End Event (approximately 1/2 of our food budget comes from these payments!)

We still have a few slots left for cakes. It would be greatly appreciated if you haven't signed up for something already, if you would consider signing up for this so that we can have plenty of desserts to choose from for this wonderful event.

The actual graduation is on Saturday, June 1 (2:00 pm) and there are numerous helping slots throughout the morning and afternoon into early evening to be filled for the graduation reception as well. The individual graduate families are recruiting for those slots, but if you would like to help at the graduation , please let me know. If you want more details on what positions need to be filled, either bounce me back or talk to Laures Merryman.
