How To Use Your New Study Bible

For those of you who received an ESV Study Bible for Christmas (and I hope it is a lot of you!), you might be interested in this post by Dr. Al Mohler, "How To Use a Study Bible."

Basically, he encourages three simple steps that are intended to help you focus on the Bible itself before the notes about the Bible:

  1. Read the text of the Bible first.
  2. Read the cross-references.
  3. Go to the notes.

So who got an ESV-SB for Christmas?  What do you think?

I didn't get one for Christmas, but I do have one. I really like it. Being able to just look down at the notes if I don't undestand something is really helpful. Also, I really like some of the drawings - they make some of the things described clearer.
