Don't Panic!! Since the e-mails will probably not go out today (maybe - but doubtful) - I thought I better post something. Many of your students (and you) are crazy busy this week and this weekend with Testing and the Event. No worries! If your student absolutely cannot make it on Tuesday, they can come the following Tuesday, or Martha and I may figure out additional dates.
Please note: even though the times are between 6:00 and 8:00 - your student may need to stay until 9:00 pm - so please be prepared for that.
Your student DOES NOT NEED TO MEMORIZE ANYTHING FOR THE AUDITION. Just bring something fun to read out loud (and with feeling etc...). Martha says a selection from:
"I suggest A Midsummer Nights Dream as a fun choice. Or Tom Sawyer. Any poem is good too. It will be a learning experience."
Also - she is more than willing to give second chances, so if your student auditions and does not feel that he/she did well, he/she may audition again the following week.
With vacations around the corner, waiting until after Co-op is over becomes very complicated, so we really want to try it this way.
We are so sorry for the lack of advance notice. We so appreciate your patience and cooperation as we figure out the best way to do this.
Feel free to continue to bounce back with questions or suggestion or concerns. Individual e-mails will still be going out to
1. make sure we have everyone who intended to sign up
2. make it easy for you to respond with your intention to audition
3. make it easy for you to confirm details, ask questions, work out specifics as needed.
As Martha said, this will be a learning experience for all of us. We are so excited for all who are interested to audition. As you all know, Martha is very patient and very encouraging. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun!
Hmm....perhaps I should audition first...if that would make anyone feel better. :-) Let's see - where is my copy of Hamlet?
Grace to all you busy moms and students! Grace!
