What is a podcast?
A podcast is a special feed which will automatically download new audio recordings to your computer as they become available. These recordings can then be placed on your iPod or other portable music player to listen to anytime.
How to listen to a podcast:
To listen to recent messages from Sovereign Grace Church via podcast, you will need iTunes or another software program to manage podcasts, such as an RSS reader. You can download the latest version of iTunes from Apple. Once you have iTunes installed on your computer, follow the step-by-step instructions below.
Step by step instructions for iTunes users
- Click the "add to iTunes" link on the Sovereign Grace Church Sermon Downloads page.
- iTunes will open the iTunes music store to the Sovereign Grace Church podcast page. Click the subscribe button in the top panel.
- The latest message from Sovereign Grace Church will begin downloading to your hard drive.
- You can then listen to it through iTunes, or load it onto a portable music device such as an iPod for listening anytime.
- iTunes will check periodically for new messages. Whenever a new message is available it will automatically download into your iTunes library.
Notes:
- You may be directed to a page that asks if you have iTunes; if so click "I have iTunes."
- You may be alerted that an external application must be launched; if so click "OK" or "Launch Application."
- There may be a delay after clicking "Subscribe to Podcast" while your computer opens iTunes, this is normal.
- To unsubscribe, click the Podcasts icon on the left side of iTunes and delete the Sovereign Grace Church entry on the right.
- If you do not wish to use the iTunes Music Store, subscribe to the podcast by clicking the "RSS Podcast" button on the Sovereign Grace Church audio downloads page. Copy the URL address from the browser window. In iTunes, click "Advanced," then "Subscribe to Podcast. " Paste the URL into the window and click "OK."
Instructions for users of other RSS Readers:
If you are using another RSS reader or podcast manager, you may subscribe to the Sovereign Grace Church podcast by clicking the "podcast feed" link on the Sovereign Grace Church Sermon Downloads page. Copy the URL address from the browser window, and paste the URL into your RSS reader or podcast manager.
